Ten years after its introduction, the very first luxury crossover SUV remains the best-selling vehicle in its category and stands out for its soft touch in a sea of performance-themed competitors. The third-generation RX stays the course with an evolutionary styling makeover, improved powertrains and a host of new technologies. The 2010 Lexus RX 350 gains five horsepower (275) and a six-speed automatic transmission, while the gas-electric version benefits from a 27-horsepower bump to 295. A long list of newly available features include a center console-mounted "Remote Touch" controller (no more touch screen), standard voice-recognition, a head-up display, radar-based dynamic cruise control, auto high-/low-beam headlight switching and a wide-angle side view monitor that displays on the navigation screen hard-to-view areas on the passenger side of the vehicle. Standard safety features includes a collision anticipation and preparation system and 10 airbags. You can start looking for the 2010 RX 350 in February 2009, with the RX 450h following in the spring.
